El valor político del ejemplo en la Gramática de la lengua castellana destinada al uso de los americanos de Andrés Bello

El valor político del ejemplo en la Gramática de la lengua castellana destinada al uso de los americanos de Andrés Bello

Abstract

The article aims at highlighting the evident political character of the Andrés Bello's grammar of the Castilian language (1983[1847]), destined for the use of the Americans. This feature is also reflected in its exemplification. Starting from the author's linguistic-political ideas, nouns and adjectives present in the examples of the corpus will be classified for studying which semantic sections are best represented. Based on the ideological classification of Julio Casares (2013 [1942]), the article examines the conceptual areas of the lexicon, to highlight whether it mostly belongs to spheres of significance that we call "politics". In this way, the article aims at understanding if in the selection of the nominal examples there is a semantic motivation, beyond the morphological and mere repetition of voices considered prototypical for the exemplification of certain doctrinal fields.
