Kita sedang mengekor dan bangga dengannya: sebuah renungan akhir 2019

Abstract

Abstract The year 2019 is almost over and the world of research appraisal and publication in Indonesia is still not moving from the procedures of ancient times. The number of citations is still used as a major component in the assessment process. Dependence on publishers is also getting stronger and is becoming increasingly irrational. Not to mention the use of indexation, impact factors, etc., all of which are not directly related to the paper and the research itself. This paper is an afterthought that re-emphasizes the symbolization of our prestige as a number of journalpublications and brands, exceeding our passion to prioritize the research process itself. Instead of being leaders, we are increasingly unaware of being imitators.
