Se presenta el caso de un varón de 26 años que acude a consulta con brote de dermatitis atópica en extremidades inferiores y superiores. La actitud terapéutica se basó en brindar al paciente una serie de cuidados generales y educación para la salud que sirvieran de apoyo al tratamiento farmacológico para mantener su enfermedad bajo control. Tras 12 días se comprueba que la educación recibida resultó beneficiosa para mejorar su calidad de vida. Se aborda de esta manera la importancia del papel de enfermería en los cuidados y el tratamiento de esta enfermedad, lo que permite plantearse nuevas líneas de actuación respecto a la misma. [Importance of health education in atopic dermatitis. A case report] Abstract: The case of a 26-year-old male who comes to the consultation with an outbreak of atopic dermatitis in the upper and lower extremities is presented. The therapeutic attitude was based on providing the patient with a series of general care and health education that would support pharmacological treatment to keep his illness under control. After 12 days, it is proven that the education received was beneficial to improve their quality of life. In this way, the importance of the role of nursing in the care and treatment of this disease is addressed, which allows us to consider new lines of action regarding it.
