Catalog of Ptolemy's Geography Book 8

Abstract

Localities contained in Book 8 of Ptolemy's Geography, based on the German translation published by (@StueckelbergerGrasshoff2006) of the two main textual recensions of the work (Xi and Omega). For a selection of important cities Book 8 of the Geography gives lists the durations of the longest day of the year as well as the distance of their meridian to the reference meridian through Alexandria (Egypt) in hours and fractions of hours.
