About the recent publication of The Compass to the South. Studies on Meridian Philosophy by Pablo Badillo O'Farrell and José M. Sevilla (Eds.) I reflect on the need for a rehabilitation of Meridian philosophy or Southern philosophy, which far from presenting a reductionist contrast of philosophy in which the Northern and Meridian way of philosophizing appear as opposed to each other, try however to show an integral vision, capable of harboring both a metaphysical and idealistic thought as well as a rhetorical and ingenious one. That is a task that begins, then, with the validation of a "Mediterranean" thought, to be complemented by the purely "Germanic".
