Toxicidade aguda do LAS-C12 sobre juvenis de tainha (Mugil platanus).

Abstract

Avaliaram-se os efeitos de exposições aguadas a diferentes concentrações de LAS-C12 (0,5ppm, 1ppm, 2,5ppm e 5ppm) sobre a CL50, o metabolismo de rotina, metabolismo ativo e o tempo de natação até o cansaço de Mugil platanus, em uma dada velocidade de natação (15cm/seg). As taxas metabólicas e o tempo de natação até o cansaço foram estimados através de experimentos realizados em cada uma das doze combinações possíveis de três temperaturas (25 C, 20 C e 15 C) e três salinidade (5‰, 20‰ e 35‰). A CL50 encontradas foram de 3,43 ppm, para exposição de 24 horas; 3,42ppm, para 48 horas; 3,34ppm, para 72 horas; 2,50ppm, para 96 horas e 2,07ppm, para 120 horas. Os resultados demonstram que o consumo de oxigênio aumenta e a capacidade de natação diminui significativamente em função da concentração de LAS-C12, em todas as temperaturas empregadas. Na mais alta concentração testada (5ppm), o consumo de oxigênio de rotina foi de 1,7 vezes maior, o consumo de oxigênio ativo 2 vezes maior e o tempo de natação até o cansaço foi até 4,65 vezes menor, dos que os do controle. Em geral, o efeito do poluente na natação e no consumo específico de oxigênio é maior nas maiores temperaturas e salinidades utilizadas.
