La sociedad que no amaba a las mujeres

Abstract

¿Qué tienen en común Isabel la Católica, Juana de Arco, Frida Kahlo, Coco Chanel y Marie Curie? Todas ellas fueron mujeres excepcionales, que destacaron en un momento histórico y se sobrepusieron a una sociedad que no favorecía el desarrollo de su talento por el mero hecho de ser mujer. A través de un viaje cronológico, Lourdes y Javier nos acercan al legado de 60 de las heroínas que, pese a no contar con el amor de la sociedad a la que pertenecieron, supieron liderar aprovechando los resquicios que encontraron. En este libro se rinde un homenaje a las mujeres que, olvidando las limitaciones artifi ciosas que les habían sido impuestas, fueron capaces de ilusionar, transformar su entorno, modifi car leyes, dirigir ejércitos, cambiar designios dinásticos, realizar descubrimientos, impulsar sueños y proteger a los suyos. Común a todas ellas fue la astucia y un sexto sentido que posiblemente tenga que ver con la capacidad de introducir en su base de datos cerebral tanto lo objetivo como lo emocional. Esa misma intuición ha determinado en algunas mujeres su vocación mística y su perseverancia infatigable que ha movido montañas de problemas en apariencia insalvables. Con un lenguaje directo y ameno, Lourdes y Javier nos sitúan en los vericuetos argumentales de historias increíbles, aproximándonos a ellas mediante la contemporanización de hechos y lugares antiguos, para que el lector tome conciencia de la percepción que los coetáneos tenían de estos y cómo dichas mujeres fueron capaces de enfrentarse a sus correspondientes obstáculos.
