Abstract

Die Berichterstattung zu Predatory Publishing im Sommer 2018 hat zweifelsohne Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler für das Thema sensibilisiert. Neben Positionsschreiben diverser Einrichtungen im Wissenschaftsbetrieb und Kriterienlisten für die Prüfung von Zeitschriften leisten u.a. auch Bibliotheken bzw. die mit Open Access befassten Abteilungen z.B. über Informationsseiten oder Workshops ihren Beitrag zur weiteren Aufklärung. Dies führt auch dazu, dass bei betroffenen Einrichtungen im Wissenschaftsbetrieb oder Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern der Wunsch aufkommt, entsprechende Publikationen zurückzuziehen oder zumindest ihre Sichtbarkeit bzw. Auffindbarkeit zu verschlechtern. Der Workshop war als Erfahrungsaustausch entlang folgender Fragen organisiert: - Mit welchen Fragestellungen oder Erwartungen wenden sich betroffene Organisationseinheiten und/oder Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler an die Open-Access-Verantwortlichen in Bezug auf Predatory Publishing? - Welche Strategien haben sich im Umgang mit Publikationen in Predatory Journals als erfolgreich herausgestellt? - Gibt es institutionelle Policies zu dem Thema oder gibt es Institutionen mit einer einheitlichen Praxis beim Umgang mit Publikationen in Predatory Journals? - Wie erfolgt die hochschulinterne Abstimmung bei divergierenden Interessen der Beteiligten (Forschende, Präsidium, Bibliothek, Forschungsdezernat…)? Dieser Beitrag fasst die Ergebnisse des Workshops zusammen.
