Importance of geriatric care is raising with increasing proportion of geriatric patients all over the world including developing developing countries.Geriatric patients are more prone to medication errors and drug -related problems and specific features of geriatric pharmacotherapy must be taken into account. Pharmacists and clinical pharmacists pharmacists play also important important role in care for geriatric patients. In India, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program started with the aim of providing providing care of clinical pharmacists to polymorbid geriatric patients on polypharmacy. Before this course, Bachelor of Pharmacy Pharmacy (BPharm) degree was the main course offered to pharmacists in India.The curriculum of BPharm is mainly industrial oriented unlike PharmD which is more clinically oriented.The objective of this study was to compare the knowledge of BPharm BPharm and PharmD students in India in geriatric care and gaps in knowledge that may lead to potential malpractice and ageist practices.
