El futuro de la población española

Abstract

El análisis del futuro demográfico español utiliza los datos, tanto de las proyecciones del INE a corto plazo (2008-2018) como de las realizaciones a largo plazo (2002-2060). El trabajo se divide en dos grandes apartados. En el inicial se hace la presentación de los resultados de la proyección a corto; primero los datos generales y después los referidos a las Comunidades Autónomas. En el segundo se incluye el análisis a largo, en este caso sólo con las cifras referidas al conjunto del país. De los datos se deduce que la población va a seguir creciendo hasta 49 millones en 2018 y hasta 53 en 2050. Este crecimiento es debido inicialmente a un saldo migratorio positivo y a un crecimiento natural también positivo. Después sólo al balance migratorio favorable ya que el crecimiento natural es negativo. El crecimiento positivo, que lo será también en 14 de las 17 Comunidades, estaría acompañado por un envejecimiento positivo de la población que tendría hondas repercusiones en la configuración de nuestra economía y de nuestra sociedad.
