Cochylidia implicitana Wocke 1856

Abstract

Cochylidia implicitana (Wocke, 1856) (Figs. 6, 22) Cochylis implicitana Wocke, 1856: 157. Type locality: Europe (Schlesien). Cochylis gratiosana Laharpe, 1858: 45. Type locality: Switzerland (Wallis, Sion). Cochylis coercitana Staudinger, 1859: 229. Type locality: Spain. Eupoecilia anthemidana Stainton, 1859: 274. Type locality: Great Britain. Cochylis noctulatana Agenjo, 1952: 103. Type locality: Spain. Cochylidia implicitana: Razowski, 1968: 7; Razowski, 1970: 385; Bradley, Trenewan & Smith, 1973: 74; Nupponen, et al., 2001: 105; Brown, 2005: 200; Alipanah, 2009: 26. Material examined. CHINA: Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region: 1Ƥ, Kabuqihai, Gongliu County (43°28ʹN, 82°13ʹE), 960 m, 30.vii.1994, leg. Houhun Li and Xincheng An; 1Ƥ, Mohe Town, Gongliu County, 1206 m, 5.viii.2007, leg. Xinpu Wang. Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 6) with wingspan 12.0−13.0 mm. Cochylidia implicitana is superficially similar to C. richteriana (Fischer von Röslerstamm, 1837), but C. implicitana can be distinguished by the forewing having an inconspicuous subapical fascia and the absence of the pretornal spot. In C. richteriana, the subapical fascia is conspicuous, and the pretornal spot is present. The female genitalia of C. implicitana (Fig. 22) differ from those of C. richteriana. C. implicitana has a somewhat inverted V-shaped ostium bursae, and the corpus bursae is about 1.5 times the length of the ductus bursae, whereas in C. richteriana the ostium bursae is narrowly channel-shaped and the corpus bursae is about two times the length of the ductus bursae. Distribution. China (Xinjiang), Iran, Europe. Note. This species is recorded for the first time from China.
