Type species. Cytaea alburna Keyserling, 1882 [subsequently designated by Simon (1903)] = Plexippus severus Thorell 1881, synonymized by Żabka (1991). Remarks. The diagnosis and description of the genus were given by Berry et al. (1998) and Prószyński & Deeleman-Reinhold (2010, 2013). Due to the great number of new species to be described, a re-definition and description will be provided at the end of this project.
