Mit Open Educational Resources und Open Access die UN Agenda 2030 unterstützen

Abstract

17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) bilden das Kernstück der UN Agenda 2030. Dazu gehören z. B. der Zugang zu inklusiver, chancengerechter und hochwertiger Bildung sowie der Aufbau resilienter Infrastrukturen und effektiver, verantwortlicher und inklusiver Einrichtungen. Bibliotheken als öffentliche und barrierefreie Institutionen für den Zugang zu Informationen und Bildung können diese Ziele aufgreifen und damit einen wichtigen Beitrag für das Gelingen der Agenda 2030 leisten und so zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung ihrer Gesellschaft beitragen. Eine Übersicht der IFLA zeigt, welche Möglichkeiten den Bibliotheken zur Umsetzung der einzelnen Nachhaltigkeitsziele offen stehen: (https://www.ifla.org/files/assets/hq/topics/libraries-development/documents/sdgs-insert-de.pdf). Von inklusiver, chancengerechter und hochwertiger Bildung sowie den Möglichkeiten zum lebenslangen Lernen, wie in SDG4 formuliert, kann aber nach Auffassung der Autorinnen nur dann die Rede sein, wenn Wissen und Informationen von Bibliotheken gemäß der Open-Definition (https://opendefinition.org/od/2.1/de/) als Open Content bereitgestellt werden. Wichtige Elemente für diese Strategie der Offenheit sind dabei der kosten- und restriktionsfreie Zugang zu wissenschaftlicher Fachliteratur (Open Access) und zu Bildungsmaterialien aller Art (Open Educational Resources). Wie Bibliotheken Open Access und OER einsetzen können, um die Nachhaltigkeitsziele der UN zu unterstützen, zeigen die Autorinnen in ihrem Vortrag auf.
