Hardness data from strain aging study of alloys 347H and IN-740H

Abstract

This data comes from a study on the effect of strain on the precipitation for two different alloys, stainless steel 347H and nickel base superalloy Inconel 740H. Each sample was welded, then they went through different levels of strain via cold rolling. For 347H the strain levels are 0 (not rolled) to 20 % strain. For IN-740H, the samples had a max strain of 10 %. After straining, the samples were then aged at two different temperatures for various times. The temperatures are 600 and 675°C for 347H and 700 and 750°C for IN-740H. The times range from 1 minute to 8,000 hours, but only 20, 50, 100, 500, and 2000 hours are shown here. This data comes from a microhardness test of the welded samples for all conditions. The hardness trace for all conditions goes from the fusion zone (part that melts and is resolidified), through the heat affected zone (the area where the microstructure and mechanical properties are affected by the heat), and into the unaffected base metal. The meta data comes from the title, hence why they're long and complicated. For 740H, there should be two hardness traces for each file. The first one is the full trace noted above, the second one is just in the fusion zone. For 347H, an additional base metal trace is the third trace. There are several different formats for the 347H trace (a,b,c, and z), but i won't get into it here. I'm currently working to condense these all down into one easy to use file (pickle format).
