Abstract

One of the uses of ionizing radiation in medicine is in the area of Interventional Radiology, which diagnoses and treats injuries throughout the body. The doses that are related to this practice are high due to the complexity of the procedures. Thus, compliance with laws and guidelines regarding radiological protection is required. In this study, it was evaluated the compliance of an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography room with the radiological protection guidelines defined by Federal Ordinance no 453/98. Data collection was done through visits and observations of the environment. It was found that the room meets 10 of the 11 analyzed items.
