Abstract

Tujuan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah matematika terbuka terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika dengan mengontrol bakat numerik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Denpasar dengan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain The Non Equivalen Posttest Only Control Group Design, melibatkan sampel sebanyak 72 siswa yang diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang dipilah menjadi dua tingkatan faktor, yaitu model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah matematika terbuka yang dikenakan pada kelompok eksperimen dan model pembelajaran konvensional yang dikenakan pada kelompok kontrol. Sebagai variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini berupa pemahaman konsep matematika. Bakat numerik sebagai variabel kontrol (kovariabel). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes, yaitu tes pemahaman konsep matematika dan tes bakat numerik. Analisis data menggunakan t-test dan Anakova satu jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh pemahaman konsep matematika antara peserta didik yang mengikuti model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah matematika terbuka dengan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional, 2) terdapat pengaruh pemahaman konsep matematika antara peserta didik yang mengikuti model pembelajaran pemecahan masalah matematika terbuka dengan yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional setelah diadakan pengendalian bakat numerik.
