Abstract

Virtuelle Teams in der Offshore-Softwareentwicklung gelten als eine mögliche organisatorische Maßnahme, den Anforderungen einer globalisierten Wirtschaft im Bereich der Softwareentwicklung gerecht zu werden. Sie nutzen die Möglichkeiten der modernen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik, um an verteilten Standorten, in unterschiedlichen Zeitzonen und mit Mitarbeitern unterschiedlichster Herkunft zusammenzuarbeiten. Das Forschungsanliegen dieser Arbeit liegt in der empirischen Untersuchung der Zusammenarbeit solcher Teams. Theoretische Basis dafür liefert die neuere Systemtheorie nach Niklas Luhmann. Es soll die Frage geklärt werden, inwiefern sich virtuelle Teams in der Zusammenarbeit von Face-to-Face-Teams aus einer systemtheoretischen Sicht unterscheiden. Im empirischen Teil der Arbeit wurde ein qualitativer Zugang mit Hilfe von leitfadengestützten Experteninterviews gewählt. Daraufhin wurden die Daten einer Inhaltsanalyse unterzogen. Die Resultate zeigen, dass die Kommunikation der untersuchten Teams wesentliche Defizite im Vergleich zu Face-to-Face-Teams aufweist und die Bildung von Subgruppen innerhalb der Teams auslöst, was die Zusammenarbeit entscheidend erschwert.
