Tüp Torakostomi Sonrasında Rutin Görüntüleme Şart mı?

Abstract

Pnömotoraks ve hemotoraks tedavisinde toraks tüpünün standart kullanımına ilk olarak 1950’lerde başlanmış olsa da aslında toraks drenajı fikri Hipokrat (M.Ö. 460-370) zamanından beri olan bir fikirdir. Bu drenaj fikri (şu andaki ile aynı olmasa da) ışığında hipokratın ampiyem tedavisinde teneke kutu, şarap ve yağ kullandığını biliyoruz. Travmada bilinen ilk toraks tüpü ise 1200’lü yıllarda Gawan isimli bir şövalyenin tansiyon pnömotoraks tedavisinde kullanılmış. Plastik toraks tüpü ilk olarak 1961’de piyasaya çıkmış. Kapalı torakostomi ve su altı drenaj sisteminin yaygın kullanımı ise Vietnam savaşında başlamış ve mortaliteyi %2.9 düşürdüğü görülünce kullanımı iyice yaygınlaşmış. Şu anda kullanılan tüpler şeffaf vinil veya silastik yapıda.
