Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi di lapangan, atlet SMP Nasional Denpasar belum dapat menunjukkan hasil yang maksimal yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya kecepatan lari sprint dalam atletik. Berdasarkan latar belakang di atas dan untuk lebih meningkatkan prestasi yang dimiliki, maka penulis mencoba melaksanakan penelitian dengan judul ”Pelatihan lari kijang jarak 1 meter 8 repetisi 5 set meningkatkan kecepatan lari sprint siswa putra kelas VIII SMP Nasional Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018“. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Nasional Denpasar tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 120 orang. Karena keterbatasan dana, tenaga, dan waktu yang tersedia, untuk itu sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini hanya menggunakan 38 orang dengan menggunakan perhitungan rumus Pocock. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan lari kijang jarak 1 meter 8 repetisi 5 set dan pelatihan agility ladder 8 repetisi 5 set sama – sama meningkatkan kecepatan lari sprint. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil post test kedua kelompok, tetapi didapatkan hasil bahwa pelatihan lari kijang jarak 1 meter 8 repetisi 5 set lebaik baik dari pada pelatihan agility ladder 8 repetisi 5 set dalam meningkatkan kecepatan lari sprint siswa putra kelas VIII SMP Nasional Denpasar Tahun Pelajaran 2017/2018.
