Top-down movies of a galactic gas disc evolving in different spiral arm and bar models, for 400 million years of evolution. Spiral arm and bar features rotate as rigid structures and at speeds different to the gas disc. The simulations are performed with the smoothed particles hydrodynamics code Gasoline2 (https://gasoline-code.com/) and movies were made using the python package Pynbody (https://pynbody.github.io/pynbody/). The accompanying paper has been accepted by the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
