Abstract

Introducción: El universo que se utilizó para llevar a cabo la investigación fueron 290 pacientes de 20 a 45 años de edad que acuden al hospital Jaime Roldó Aguilera del cantón Ventanas. Objetivo: Conocer la prevalencia de sífilis y su relación con el riesgo en pacientes con Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana. Métodos: es un estudio transversal desde septiembre 2017 al febrero 2018, donde se empleó una combinación de métodos que son inductivos y deductivos que nos permitió hacer un análisis y síntesis precisa que el VIH es el agente infeccioso cuyo estadio final es el Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida. Esta Infección causa disminución progresiva de las defensas de las personas infectadas. Resultados: Se encontró en los datos obtenidos en una las encuestas realizadas que las distribuciones de las edades de los pacientes se encuentran estrechamente relacionadas, siendo los de 31 a 35 años la edad con mayor prevalencia con un porcentaje de 30%. El 52% de pacientes son del género masculino, mientras que el 25% corresponden al género femenino y un 23% a aquellas personas que manifiestan tener un género diferente al biológico. Conclusiones: se pudo determinar que uno de los principales factores fue el estilo de vida sexual, la mayor población afectada es la del sexo masculino y que por lo general tienen una escolaridad inconclusa, lo que deja entrever que la falta de información es un factor esencial en la disminución de este índice de prevalencia.
