Redefiniendo manufactura inteligente desde una nueva perspectiva (Redefining intelligent manufacture from a new perspective)

Abstract

En la literatura y en muchos eventos se habla ampliamente de la manufactura inteligente, aunque la mayoría se centra en cuestiones como equipos, programas software, manufactura aditiva, robótica, internet de las cosas o industria 4.0. Este trabajo se aleja de esta perspectiva y examina otras cuestiones relevantes, tales como sistemas híbridos, redefinición de manufactura avanzada, disposición del ecosistema y escalabilidad tecnológica. A este respecto lo primero que hay que hacer es redefinir cómo será la manufactura del futuro, si la idea es: 1) concientizar al público sobre sus impactos económicos y sociales, y 2) lograr el apoyo de los responsables políticos. Lo segundo es reconocer que la manufactura dejará de ser un sistema casi totalmente humano, para convertirse en un sistema híbrido entre humanos y máquinas, procesos aditivos y sustractivos, materiales compuestos, y sistemas cibernéticos y físicos. Por lo que cobra especial relevancia el estudio de las interfaces entre las condiciones y las normas de este nuevo sistema. Lo tercero es desarrollar un marco común en el que la tecnología, la empresa manufacturera y la disposición del ecosistema se puedan evaluar simultáneamente para acortar el tiempo que tardan los productos en llegar a los clientes. Para ello es esencial poder medir la escalabilidad de las tecnologías que no son TI. Lo cuarto es examinar las modalidades exitosas de colaboración entre la industria, la academia y el estado a través de asociaciones público-privadas.
