Internationale Kooperation und Vernetzung in den Geisteswissenschaften

Abstract

Heute gilt in den Wissenschaften das Attribut international per se als Qualitätsmerkmal. Internationalisierungsstrategien gehören zum Programm der Hochschulsteuerung. Was ist unter Internationalität in den Wissenschaften zu verstehen? Wie differenziert sich diese in unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen und Aktivitäten aus? Welche hochschulpolitischen Erwartungen und Versprechen gehen mit Internationalisierung der Wissenschaften einher? Die etablierten Instrumente des Hochschulmonitorings erfassen die internationale Kooperation und Vernetzung in den Geisteswissenschaften nicht hinreichend. Mittels einer explorativen Studie im erweiterten Umfeld der Schweizerischen Akademie der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften wird im vorliegenden Bericht versucht, die filigranen Netzwerke und vielschichtigen Kooperationsformen der Geistes- (und Sozial-)Wissenschaften über die Grenzen hinaus wie auch deren Bedeutung zu erfassen. Im Zentrum des Interessens stehen grenzüberschreitende Kooperationen im allgemeinen Sinn, seien sie geografischer, disziplinärer oder institutioneller Natur.
