This article investigated features of activity of construction companies, degree of influence of innovative processes its development. It is analyzed the state of building sector in Ukraine. There is brought a value of building sector in economy of country. Ukrainian building sector is very specific. The features of industry are explained by character its final products, specific working conditions, specific applying technique, and technology, organization of production, management and logistic support. It is defined that in the phases of recession and crisis the falling in construction volumes is most among other industries of national economy. Attention should be paid renewal technical capacity at the present stage. It is considered directions of providing of efficiency of activity and defined the basic ways of activation of innovative activity of construction companies.
