Mean Atmospheric Fields, Climatology and Anomalies over the Iberian Peninsula, 1991–2024

Abstract

This repository contains the atmospheric fields, climatological fields, and anomalies used to analyse the atmospheric conditions associated with differences in precipitable water vapour content over the Iberian Peninsula during the 1991–2024 period. The dataset includes annual and seasonal atmospheric fields for the complete 1991–2024 period, together with the corresponding climatological means for 1991–2020 (WMO recommendation) and annual and seasonal anomalies calculated for each year of the study period. The atmospheric variables included in the dataset are: - Geopotential height ("hgt") - Relative humidity ("rhum") - Sea-level pressure ("slp") - Zonal wind component ("uwnd", "u") - Meridional wind component ("vwnd", "v") The fields are provided over a regional domain covering the North Atlantic, Europe, and the Iberian Peninsula [(10ºN,70ºW),(70ºN, 30ºE)] for different pressure levels (1000, 850, 700, 500, 300, 200 hPa).
