The report examines post-return realities and human rights monitoring following returns from the EU, with country analyses in Annexes on Georgia, Iraq and Nigeria. Drawing on qualitative fieldwork, legal and policy analysis, it identifies key human rights risks and gaps in existing monitoring practices and explores why and how post-return human rights monitoring could be systematically established, and current initiatives strengthened, including possible actors, mechanisms and pathways for implementation.
