Abstract

This short policy brief from the THEMIS 5.0 project presents practical recommendations for building and deploying trustworthy AI in complex socio-technical systems. It highlights the importance of stakeholder participation, context-specific definitions of trustworthiness, effective governance, human oversight, and continuous ethical and legal assessment. Designed for policymakers, developers, organisations and other AI stakeholders, the brief translates THEMIS 5.0 findings into clear, accessible guidance for supporting AI systems that are accountable, human-centred and aligned with societal values Note: The full policy brief that this document is based upon can be found in the 'THEMIS 5.0 - Trustworth AI Your Way' community here on Zenodo. ____________________________________________________________ This public deliverable forms part of THEMIS 5.0, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under Grant Agreement No. 101121042
