The poster outlines the research data management (RDM) framework of the DAM research mission sustainMare ("Protection and sustainable use of marine spaces"), which comprises seven research consortia: CoastalFutures, CONMAR, CREATE, iSEAL and SpaCeParti, together with the pilot projects MGF Nordsee and MGF Ostsee. Organised along the data life cycle, the poster documents the tools and services available to mission members for the preparation of FAIR data publications. A common procedural framework is established by the sustainMare data policy, a mission-wide data management plan template and individual consultation with the data managers of the Mission Working Group (MWG) Data Management. To ensure reproducibility and to streamline subsequent archiving, expedition metadata in the Ocean Science Information System (OSIS) of GEOMAR and device and sensor descriptions in the O2A Registry of the AWI are interlinked in advance and referenced by the deployment logs recorded in DSHIP on board the vessels (ActionLogs). In accordance with the DAM Research Data Guideline, research data are archived and published under persistent identifiers (DOI) in domain-specific, trusted long-term repositories, among them PANGAEA – Data Publisher for Earth & Environmental Science, WDC-CLIMATE and Qualiservice. Data that cannot yet be released openly are made accessible as interim datasets, together with the corresponding metadata via the sustainMare Data Portal. Dissemination through the Marine Data Portal and its data viewers enhances the visibility and findability of published datasets and supports the communication of complex results to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
