Abstract

This paper presents the conceptual architecture of Distributed Interception & Vigilance forYield-modification of Asteroids (DIVYA) which is a concept of a network of modules in Earth’sorbit proposed to detect, monitor and intercept potentially hazardous asteroids or anomalies. Theacronym DIVYA is a sanskrit word, which means "divine," "heavenly," "celestial," or "radiantbrilliance.”DIVYA is a web of modules with each module incorporating six interceptor bays arrangedaround the spacecraft. It also carries an in-built telescope which looks out for other spaceanomalies which have a probability of hitting Earth. Then we align it (by commands) at such aposition where we can launch the interceptors to deflect anomalies.
