Abstract

The Forensic Atlas of the Qur’an is Volume IV of The Qur’anic Coherence System and serves as the evidence and self-audit layer of the four-volume project. The preceding volumes define the method, map the whole-book architecture, and profile all 114 surahs. Volume IV asks a harder question: when a structural claim is drawn, diagrammed, counted, or visualized, how can a reader know whether the picture reflects the text or merely the analyst’s ingenuity? The volume therefore organizes six evidence families: ring or chiastic structures; theme maps; linguistic anchors; density mapping; conceptual collisions created by purposeful juxtaposition; and detailed case studies. None is treated as self-validating. A ring requires independently defensible boundaries and semantic correspondence; a theme map requires categories defined before counting rather than after; root and lexical analysis must distinguish morphological recurrence from semantic identity; density patterns require baselines; and visual symmetry must not be allowed to overpower counter-evidence that would be obvious in prose. Its defining feature is confidence grading. High-confidence claims require convergence among several independent lines of evidence. Moderate claims are coherent and meaningful but retain unresolved alternatives. Exploratory claims are preserved because they may be worth testing, yet are not allowed to carry strong interpretive or theological conclusions. This graded architecture is intended to make uncertainty visible rather than bury it in footnotes after an attractive diagram has already persuaded the reader.
