
This article develops a Field-to-Hash screening method for evaluating the conversion of gasfrom low-debit, depleting, and transport-isolated hydrocarbon fields into electricity for Bitcoin mining. Theproposed method integrates sustainable gas flow, generator efficiency, Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE),ASIC efficiency, and annual operational availability. A 10 MW power plant requires approximately 54.5–65.8thousand m³ of natural gas per day and can support approximately 606 PH/s of computing capacity beforeaccounting for downtime. The proposed methodology provides a practical preliminary appraisal tool for thedevelopment of Besqala Mining Valley projects.
