2. R. idaeus L., Sp. Pl. 1: 492 (1753) [idáeus] Ind. loc.: “Habitat in Europae lapidosis” Ic.: Lám. 5 Turiones suberectos, de 3,5-5 mm de diámetro y sección circular, verdes o castaño-rojizos, pruinosos, glabros, a veces con pelos simples, aislados y fasciculados, muy cortos, sin glándulas estipitadas; acúleos en número variable (0-50), de 0,5-2 mm, homogéneos, finos, rectos, patentes o algo inclinados, a veces de color violeta. Hojas pinnaticompuestas, con 3-5-7 folíolos, caducas, de haz pelosa (5-100 pelos por cm 2 o más), con pelos estrellados o simples, muy cortos, y envés blanco-tomentoso; estípulas 0,5-0,75 mm de anchura, lineares; folíolo terminal ovado u obovado, de base cordada o redondeada, en general cortamente peciolulado (16-30%), profundidad de la aserradura (1)2,5-3(4) mm. Inflorescencia ± cilíndrica, con hojas hasta el ápice, las superiores, en general, bracteiformes, las restantes con 3 folíolos; eje poco peloso, con pelos simples, aislados o fasciculados, a veces verde-tomentoso, con un número variable (0-11) de acúleos, de 0,5-2 mm, en general rectos e inclinados, a veces curvos; pedicelos 5-15 mm, verde-tomentosos, con algunos pelos simples más largos, y con 2-10 aculéolos de 0,5-1 mm, de moderada a fuertemente curvos. Receptáculo con la zona axial blanco-tomentosa. Sépalos tomentosos, grisáceo-blanquecinos, inermes o subinermes, reflejos. Pétalos 6-7 × 3-4 mm, ovales u obovados, blancos. Anteras glabras. Carpelos blanco-tomentosos. Fruto con drupas pelosas, rojizas. 2 n = 14*. Claros y orlas de bosque húmedo, principalmente en hayedos, aunque también en pinares, abetales, robledales, melojares, abedulares, etc., y matorrales de alta montaña; en todo tipo de substrato; 500-2200 m. V-VII. Circumboreal. Pirineos, Cordillera Cantábrica, Montes de León, Sistema Ibérico y Sistema Central; como cultivado puede encontrarse en otras provincias. And. N.v.: frambueso, sangüeso (frambuesa y sangüesa, el fruto); chordonera y churdón (chordón, el fruto) (Aragón); port.: framboeseira (framboesa, el fruto); cat.: gerdera, gerder, gerdoner, gerdonera, gersera, jordonera (gerd, gerdó y jordó, el fruto; jurdú y jurdun, en el valle de Arán); eusk.: mugurdiondoa (mugurdia, gortalegia y masustragorria, el fruto); gall.: framboeseiro, sangüeso, sangroexo (framboesa, sangüesa, sangroexa, el fruto). Las frambuesas se emplean en la preparación de mermeladas, jaleas, licores, etc. Su jugo y jarabe se usan como aromatizantes.
