Field Observations on Learning Re-engagement Among Students with School Refusal

Abstract

This paper examines the process by which students experiencing school refusal re-engage with learning and rebuild connections with school, and investigates the factors that determine the success or failure of this process, drawing on the author's 20 years of observational experience as an elementary school teacher in both regular classrooms and resource rooms (tsukyu).
