The webinar was designed to present and discuss concrete, evidence-based insights on how Cloud-Edge-IoT (CEI) solutions are being adopted in the Energy, Mobility, and Industry spheres. It will draw on findings from CEI-SPHERE’s Deep Dive Analysis to highlight real-world adoption patterns, key challenges, and emerging opportunities in these domains, providing participants with a solid analytical basis for understanding the current CEI landscape. Beyond presenting findings, the session aimed to stimulate a broader dialogue on the role of open-source approaches, open standards, and the CEI Trust Label as critical enablers for scaling CEI solutions in the European market. It aims to explore how openness, interoperability, and trust frameworks can reduce fragmentation, support ecosystem growth, and accelerate market uptake. A central purpose of the webinar was to connect CEI-SPHERE’s technical and market-oriented results with the BRIDGE initiative’s Business Model Working Group insights, including aspects such as business sustainability, interoperability, and commercialisation pathways for innovative solutions. In this way, the webinar will help align technology development with viable business models and market integration strategies. The discussion also focused on identifying synergies between CEI-SPHERE’s pilot-driven approach and the business model innovations emerging within BRIDGE, looking at how real-life pilots and demonstrators can be better leveraged to validate and de-risk new business approaches. Finally, the webinar intended to lay the groundwork for future joint activities between CEI-SPHERE and the BRIDGE Business Model Working Group, fostering continued collaboration on market design, business strategies, and ecosystem-building for Cloud-Edge-IoT in Europe.
