This brief highlights Belize’s contributions to GBIF and demonstrates how Belize’s existing GBIF contributions are already generating impact on the global academic impact. It also identifies key opportunities to strengthen local organizations and practitioners to become involved, improve data representation across taxa, and increase the use of biodiversity data in local research, policy and conservation.
