**Shell gorget (replica)** Location: Nelson mound (31Cw1), Caldwell County, North Carolina. Period: Late Precontact (AD 1400-1600). Material: marine shell. Dimensions: length, 67.4 mm; width, 65.5 mm; thickness, 13.9 mm. Notes: Catalog no. 1965rp3. Original artifact (catalog # 82855) is in the US National Museum of Natural History, Washington.
