SpongeScapes strip – Poplave in suše: iskanje vodnega ravnovesja

Abstract

Ta strip, razvit v okviru projekta Horizon Europe SpongeScapes, predstavlja raziskovalno delo doktorskega študenta Christopherja Wittmanna, ki preučuje hidrološke kompromise med zmanjševanjem poplav in suš. S pomočjo hibridnega modela površinskih in podzemnih voda, uporabljenega na porečju Chaamse Beken na Nizozemskem, strip prikazuje, kako lahko na naravi temelječe rešitve, kot je odstranjevanje drenažnih jarkov, povzročijo nepričakovane stranske učinke. S kombinacijo ilustracij in pripovedovanja strip ozavešča širšo javnost o kompleksnosti upravljanja voda in odpornosti pokrajine na podnebne spremembe.
