Abstract

As electric mobility continues to expand across Europe, charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important component of the broader Cloud-Edge-IoT ecosystem. Beyond simply connecting vehicles to the grid, charging stations are evolving into intelligent, interconnected assets that exchange data in real time, support new energy services, and contribute to more flexible and sustainable energy systems. This workshop explored how charging stations can be integrated into Cloud-Edge-IoT environments, with a particular focus on interoperability, standards, and practical deployment challenges. Bringing together experts from research, industry and standardisation activities, the session examined how software-defined vehicles, connected charging infrastructures and digital platforms can work together across the computing continuum.
