When does switching powertrain pay off? A prospective life cycle assessment of road transport options under three decarbonisation policy pathways

Abstract

These spreadsheets contain supplementary data to the article "When does switching powertrain pay off? A prospective life cycle assessment of road transport options under three decarbonisation policy pathways". Interactive model: This file contains the model described in Section 3.5. The Static results sheet presents detailed environmental impacts for vehicle production, battery production, and the tank-to-wheel life cycle stage. These results are not time-sensitive and are calculated for the reference year 2025. The Dynamic results sheet presents detailed environmental impacts for the well-to-tank, vehicle maintenance, and end-of-life life cycle stages. These results are time-sensitive and cover the period 2025–2100. Inventory data: This file contains the inventory data used to model the environmental performance of the analysed road transport vehicles. Separate sheets are provided for cars, LCVs, trucks, and buses. Additional sheets include component-specific data, abrasion and tailpipe emissions during the use phase, and end-of-life modelling. The End-of-life (values) sheet also includes tables with the modelled material composition of individual vehicles and components, along with the corresponding treatment scenario ratios..
