Plot ERA5-Land temperature data for Uzbekistan

Plot ERA5-Land temperature data for Uzbekistan

Abstract

This didactic material was developed in the scope of the GREENDT project, as part of its objective to strengthen local capacity and promote knowledge transfer on Environmental Engineering, including atmospheric pollution and climate change thematic areas. This material introduces participants to working with the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS) and the ERA5‑Land reanalysis to explore near‑surface air temperature over Uzbekistan. Through a guided, databased exercise, learners download ERA5‑Land data, make quick‑look maps in NASA Panoply, create plots in Python, and perform simple analyses focused on Uzbekistan. The activity promotes hands-on learning and supports training and teaching activities in climate and environmental sciences.
