YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe) is a European university alliance that bring together ten universities across Europes. According to its vision and mission, the objective of YUFE is to be a front-running European university alliance that shapes a holistic and inclusive future for European learners and the needs of society. YUFE brings together its partner universities with an aspiration of becoming a European university. Staff in the partner universities are in a crucial position in enabling the YUFE visions to become reality. Staff at YUFE universities include teaching and research staff and professional service staff. Staff at YUFE universities work with diverse profiles, job descriptions, educational and professional backgrounds, and individual career goals. For the YUFE university alliance, staff are key enablers of the YUFE European University. Competent and motivated staff are a prerequisite for high-quality teaching and research, and for the provision of high-quality support services. This report provides• a review of recognition and rewards (R&R) approaches within the context of universities, and general guidelines in R&R,• a review of YUFE partner universities’ current approaches (current good practices) in R&R,• a set of recommendations for the partner universities, and• the YUFE R&R toolbox, including both piloted joint activities and further potential activities.
