La Topología de la Absolución: Continuidad, Agencia y la no-sustitución del yo

Abstract

Este ensayo desarrolla una interpretación de la absolución, la santificación y el purgatorio dentro del marco de la Topología Gaitán. Si la identidad personal consiste en el recorrido ininterrumpido de un interior infinito, entonces el perdón no puede entenderse como la sustitución de un yo moral por otro. El ensayo distingue la culpa como una condición de frontera, removible instantáneamente mediante la absolución, del orgullo como una curvatura interior que sólo puede sanar mediante un recorrido continuo. Frente a las teorías de reemplazo de la conversión y frente a los modelos de santificación instantánea, se argumenta que la continuidad no es una condición independiente de la identidad sino la consecuencia misma de la agencia. El resultado es un marco unificado para comprender la conversión, la santificación, la absolución en el lecho de muerte, el purgatorio y la persistencia de la identidad personal a través de la transformación moral.
