SPII-2 is set up as a co-production programme, involving key stakeholders from research institutions, infrastructure providers and national initiatives. The programme is structured along five interrelated lines of approach: · [A] Development of additional use cases to potentially expand the requirements for OSI · [B] Technical setup - developing a reference model and interoperability requirements · [C] Connecting and collaborating with infrastructures (existing and in development) · [D] Organisational and financial models for the federation · [E] Explorative study – assessing the impact of emerging technologies (e.g. AI, decentralised models) These lines are strongly interdependent and will be coordinated and integrated by a core group. This programme plan is in development and will be updated periodically to reflect discussions with the various stakeholders: · In version 0.4 the descriptions of lines B and C have been revised · In an additional chapter (Chapter 6. Scope for 2026) the activities foreseen for 2026 are described.
