Abstract

Este ensayo examina la relación entre la tecnología, la dependencia y la vida interior mediante la metáfora del bastón algorítmico. A partir del antiguo acertijo de la Esfinge, sostiene que la modernidad oculta progresivamente sus dependencias bajo la apariencia de autonomía. A través de reflexiones sobre la economía de la atención, las redes sociales, el espectáculo, la memoria, la belleza y el autoconocimiento, explora cómo la cultura contemporánea fomenta la externalización del trabajo interior mientras conserva la ilusión de autosuficiencia. Recurriendo a figuras como Máximo, Lázaro, Emily Dickinson y los habitantes de Macondo, argumenta que algunos de los movimientos más importantes de la existencia humana no pueden delegarse, optimizarse ni entregarse mediante un feed. El ensayo propone que el encuentro genuino es irreductible a la representación y que las formas más profundas de comprensión exigen participación y no mero consumo.
