Relational Continuum Ontology and Regime-Dependent Emergence: Continuity Without Entity Persistence

Abstract

This paper extends Relational Continuum Ontology (RCO) through the concept of regime-dependent emergence. It argues that continuity in existence need not depend on the persistence of specific entities, structures, or spacetime configurations. Instead, continuity resides in an underlying generative relational continuity capable of producing different forms of stability across different organizational regimes. Particles, atoms, black holes, galaxies, and spacetime are interpreted as localized stabilizations through which continuity becomes expressed rather than as features that must persist unchanged through cosmic evolution. This perspective opens the possibility that different regimes may generate different stable structures while remaining connected through a deeper continuity of relational generation. The framework is applied to questions concerning black holes, dark matter, cosmological evolution, and the status of apparently fundamental entities. The central implication is that persistence belongs primarily to generative continuity itself, while physical reality consists of its evolving and regime-dependent configurations.
