Compendio de Retórica. El arte de hablar en público [Compendium of Rhetoric: The Art of Public Speaking]

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Rhetoric has been an essential discipline in European culture since the Greco-Roman period. During Romanticism, a rejection of the discipline occurred, which led to its disappearance from education. Although since the twentieth century the recovery of traditional Rhetoric has been called for, school and university curricula still lack a discipline that teaches how to speak well in public. This Compendio de Retórica is intended for all those individuals who need to speak in public and who wish to know the norms provided by the discipline for centuries.
