Dataset: Strong Wind Duration and Intensity in Tel Aviv, 1940–2025, yearly data

Abstract

The dataset includes yearly results of calculations related to wind speed and wind gusts in Tel Aviv 1940-2025. This dataset applies multi-threshold framework, the lowest strong wind threshold is 15 km/hr, the highest 40 km/hr, and each step 5 km/hr. The parameters analyzed are: o average wind speed above thresholds o annual duration of strong wind o Strong Wind Intensity Indicator - SWII o average continuous hours of strong winds o maximum continuous hours of strong winds The term “Strong Wind Intensity Indicator” (SWII) is the product of the strong wind above the specific threshold by its duration.
