Le Bug-raga dans les interstices de la sacralité et de la temporalité : autopsie d'une cérémonie en désuétude

Abstract

Le faible engouement des populations rurales pour les cérémonies rituelles est un fait observable partout au Burkina Faso, depuis quelques années, voire quelques décennies. Les rites traditionnels autrefois perçus comme indispensables à la survie des communautés, drainant ainsi des foules nombreuses, sombrent de plus en plus dans une sorte d’archaïsme. Le Bug-raga de Sakuli, village situé au nord-ouest de Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), n’échappe pas à cette règle. En effet, cette cérémonie rituelle qui autrefois était l’activité traditionnelle phare du village, tombe progressivement en désuétude. C’est dans l’objectif de cerner les causes de la désaffection de cette cérémonie par les populations du village, que le présent article qui est le résultat d’enquêtes menées dans le village de Sakuli, a été élaboré.
