This study examined the views of Grade 12 learners on desirable job traits and the factors influencing their career choices at Doña Francisca Lacsamana de Ortega Memorial National High School (DFLOMNHS), San Blas, Bangar, La Union, Philippines, during the School Year 2025–2026. Specifically, it identified the respondents’ demographic profile, determined the job traits they considered most desirable, examined the factors influencing their career decisions, and explored their preferred careers. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, involving 96 Grade 12 learners selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a structured survey questionnaire and analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, weighted means, and standard deviations through Jamovi software. Results revealed that the respondents were predominantly late adolescents aged 17 to 18 years, nearly balanced in terms of sex, mostly enrolled in the HUMSS strand, and largely from low-income households. Among the desirable job traits, a positive work environment obtained the highest rating (WM = 4.06, SD = 1.08), followed by personal fulfillment (WM = 4.02, SD = 1.06) and job security benefits (WM = 4.02, SD = 1.23). Nursing emerged as the most preferred career (14.6%), followed by Accountant and Entrepreneur (10.4% each), and Doctor, Teacher, and Police Officer (8.3% each). Personal interests exerted the strongest influence on career choice (WM = 4.26, SD = 1.10), while religious and cultural beliefs had the least influence (WM = 2.44, SD = 1.43). The findings indicate that learners prioritize careers that offer supportive work environments, personal satisfaction, and long-term security. The study proposes the Right Meaningful Guide (RMG) for Career Development to support informed career decision-making among Senior High School learners.
