Emotional Realism Expressionism (ERE): Founding Manifesto and Theoretical Framework

Abstract

Emotional Realism Expressionism (ERE) is a contemporary painting framework founded by Petros Thanos. ERE unites three inseparable artistic dimensions: emotional intensity, recognizable human presence, and expressionist visual force. Unlike traditional approaches that separate realism, emotion, and expressionism into distinct categories, ERE proposes their simultaneous coexistence within a single visual structure. The movement seeks to transform psychological experience into visual form while preserving human recognizability and expressive freedom. This publication presents the founding manifesto and theoretical framework of Emotional Realism Expressionism (ERE), outlining its principles, visual language, and conceptual foundations.
